The Espresso Collective is a monthly online salon for women writers of colour — a space to return to the page, to yourself and to the version of your life that feels most like you. This is where creativity becomes part of how you live — and something you stay in relationship with.

The Ritual

Each gathering is a way to devote yourself to your creativity, to write as if no one is watching and to release what’s inherited and dream up what’s yours.

In Espresso, we have a sacred container to step away from the inherited world, to play, remember, try things on and to figure out what a creative life means to each and everyone of us.

We gather to show up for ourselves as writers not when it’s convenient or you’ve been able to create the perfect moment — but as an ongoing practice of choosing the pages and the lives we’re authoring.

You get to come exactly as you are — with an idea, a feeling, a half-thought or nothing at all — and still, you show up for your creativity.

We meet online once a month on the last Friday from 1-3pm (UK time). Writers can join from wherever they are in the world. We begin with 45 minutes of guided self-authorship, and 1 hour 15 minutes to follow the breadcrumbs in the writing itself as part of a shared co-writing cafe.

A replay of the opening is available throughout the month that follows.

You’re still very welcome. A replay of the opening is shared and available for the month that follows.
